Goings On About Town
ON A WAVE
Some of the waves in this group show are literal, like Chris Gentiles
spoof of the famous Hiroshige print of a cresting wave (here its
the curled-up corner of a carpet) or Reed Andersons collage
of shots from surfer magazines, pierced by lacy holes like bubbles
in foaming spray. Other waves are implicit, as in Gwen Smiths
photo of beachfront stairs at Encinitas, with the Pacific in the
background. Through Feb. 16. (Jessica Murray, 210 N. 6th St. 718-384-9606.)
